Grateful Dead – Anthem of the Sun: 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition

‘Anthem of the Sun: 50th Anniversary’ Deluxe Edition include due versioni dell’album originale nello stesso cd: una completamente rimasterizzata dal mix originale del 1968 e una rimasterizzata dal più famoso mix del 1971. Entrambi i missaggi furono masterizzati dall’ingegnere del suono (vincitore di Grammy) David Glasser dai nastri originali analogici.

La ristampa include inoltre un bonus disc con un live show completamente inedito registrato il 22 ottobre 1967 al Winterland in San Francisco, California. Nuovamente rimasterizzato da Jeffrey Norman, è la prima rinomata registrazione di Mickey Hart con i Grateful Dead, essendosi unito al gruppo nel settembre 1967.
Anthem of the Sun: 50th Anniversary in vinile e in picture disc  sarà disponibile dallo stesso giorno e conterrà il missaggio del 1971 dell’album.

 

Anthem Of The Sun fu l’album più sperimentale del gruppo, un misto senza precedenti di registrazioni in studio e live, unite per creare un ibrido che rimane un pilastro della musica psichedelica.

 

L’album mette anche in evidenza il cambiamento della band, che iniziò a canalizzare la sua creatività in jam più lunghe come “Alligator” e “Caution (Do Not Stop On Tracks)”- due brani simbolici dei primi giorni dei Dead.
