REM – Rem live at Bbc

‘R.E.M. at the BBC’ è il box set live dei Rem: si tratta di una compilation composta da otto dischi che riportano fedelmente le session registrate tra il 1984 e il 2008, a cui si aggiunge un dvd di video come bonus. Esiste anche un’edizione più ‘riassuntiva’ che è composta da due cd e racchiude il meglio del meglio di questa compilation.
Negli Stati Uniti, i Rem arrivarono all’attenzione del pubblico nei primi Anni Ottanta e svilupparono una fanbase che li seguiva in tutte le loro apparizioni pubbliche e alle radio dei college. La band è arrivata in Europa dal 1983, sfondando soprattutto nei mercati inglese, francese, tedesco e olandese: la BBC decise di promuovere questa band non solo programmando la sua musica, ma anche con interviste, apparizioni tv e session nei suoi studi. Questo forte impegno della radio inglese ha prodotto molto materiale interessante che adesso è finalmente disponibile per il grande pubblico.
