Da venerdì è disponibile ‘The Early Years 1965-1972’ dei Pink Floyd: un box con 27 dischi e ben 7 ore di musica inedita

pink-floydMancano pochi giorni e il tanto atteso The Early Years 1965-1972, il  nuovo box set dei Pink Floyd, sarà finalmente disponibile. Annunciato in agosto, esce 11 novembre ed è la raccolta di pezzi di registrazioni mai usati prima nei dischi ufficiali, remix inediti e b-side, ma anche delle registrazioni prese dalle trasmissioni radio e delle performance live degli anni che vedevano la presenza anche di Syd Barrett.

In tutto il cofanetto mette insieme 11 ore di materiale audio e ben 14 di materiale video, raccolti in 27 dischi.
Ma a rendere veramente speciale questa pubblicazione è senza dubbio il fatto che sono incluse anche sette ore di materiale mai pubblicato prima: si tratta di incisioni con Syd Barrett, datate 1967. Le canzoni si chiamano ‘Vegetable Man’ e ‘The Beechwoods’ a cui si aggiunge una registrazione, sempre del 1967, con John Latham, per un corto che si sarebbe dovuto chiamare ‘Speak’, ma che non è mai stato realizzato.

Come non bastasse, c’è anche ‘Moonhead’, suonata live alla tv britannica nel 1969, mentre l’uomo stava atterrando sulla Luna: un piccolo pezzo di storia che viene riportato alla luce grazie a questa nuova pubblicazione.

Potrebbe bastare, no?!? E invece ci sono anche delle registrazioni che non erano mai state pubblicate che sarebbero dovute essere incluse nella colonna sonora del film ‘Zabriskie Point’, nonché un nuovo remix, datato 1972 di ‘Obscured by Clouds’.

Per quanto riguarda, poi, la parte video, ci sono cinque ore di rarissime scene di concerti che i Pink Floyd hanno tenuto nella prima parte della loro carriera e non solo.

Insomma, per tutti quelli che hanno amato e amano i Pink Floyd, la data di novembre diventa imperdibile e da attendere con ansia, per poter mettere le mani su qualcosa che sembra essere decisamente molto interessante, non solo dal punto di vista documentale, ma anche (e forse soprattutto) musicale.

La casa discografica farà comunque uscire anche una versione più ‘economica’ di questa pubblicazione che sarà composta da un cd doppio, ma ancora non si sa cosa vi sarà incluso.
