Tornano i Run The Jewels: il loro terzo album ‘RTJ3‘ è infatti uscito dopo due anni di silenzio il 20 gennaio. Realizzato con la collaborazione di guest d’eccezione come Danny Brown, Tunde Adebimpe dei Tv on the Radio, Trina e Kamasi Washington, sarà disponibile su cd, doppio vinile e formato digitale, oltre che in edizione deluxe. L’annuncio del nuovo album è arrivato con l’uscita del brano ‘Legend Has It’, che va ad aggiungersi ai già disponibili ‘2100’ e ‘Talk To Me’.
Con il terzo disco è cambiato il classico tema “pistol & fist” presente su tutte le copertine dei Run The Jewels: ora, infatti, la celebre immagine creata dall’illustratore Nick Gazin è d’oro e in tre dimensioni.
Nei due anni trascorsi tra ‘RTJ2’ e il nuovo lavoro il duo si è trasformato da fenomeno dell’underground a culto internazionale, capace di produrre un movimento artistico (Tag The Jewels), un radio show (WRTJ su Beasts1), fumetti Marvel (al fianco dei supereroi Deadpool e Luke Cage), videogames (Gears of War 4), realtà virtuale (VRTJ), award discografici (Pitchfork album of the year 2014 e NME Best International Band) e decine di show sold out e partecipazioni a importanti festival in giro per il mondo.
