Il video della settimana è quello che anticipa il nuovo disco dei Weezer e ha un titolo decisamente estivo ‘Feels Like Summer’, ma la scelta è caduta su questo video per la sua originalità e ironia.
I Weezer sono da sempre famosi per non restare mai nei canoni prescritti e, anche questa volta, hanno voluto dimostrarci che un video live di una band può essere lo spunto non solo per presentarci una canzone, ma anche per fare un omaggio a un’altra band e comunque per non essere mai troppo seri.
Ecco, quindi, che un live-video diventa un omaggio ai Guns’n’Roses e il punto di riferimento è il video di ‘Paradise City’ della band di Axl Rose e Slash. Loro, i Weezer, sono ‘camuffati’ proprio da Guns e si esibiscono di fronte a un pubblico vero. Niente più o meno finte prove, ma un vero concerto a Pasadena di qualche settimana fa, di fronte a un pubblico che non si aspettava certo di vedere i giovani Guns sul palco.
Questa non è la sola versione della canzone: ne esiste anche un’altra – quella ufficiale – ottimo lavoro di computer grafica, ma questa è divertente, sbarazzina e molto estiva, come vuole il titolo.
