I The Joy Formidable sono un power trio alternative rock gallese composto dalla frontwoman Ritzy Bryan (voce e chitarra), Rhydian Dafydd (basso e coro) e Matt Thomas (batteria e percussioni).
‘Aarth’ è il loro quarto album, il primo per la britannica Hassle Records,
seguito del successo dei precedenti ‘Wolf’s Law’, ‘Hitch’ e dell’esordio ‘Big Roar’.
Il titolo del nuovo album gioca con le parole EARTH (terra) e ARTH (orso in gallese).
Il tour estivo dei The Joy Formidable ha registrato ovunque il tutto esaurito,
oltre ad essere stati chiamati da Robert Smith dei The Cure per esibirsi alla nuova edizione del Meltdown Festival. Il sound dei The Joy Formidable è unico, potente e melodico, con uno stile chitarristico aggressivo e l’inconfondibile voce di Ritzy Bryan a farla da padrone.
‘The Wrong Side’ segue il precedente singolo ‘Dance of the Lotus’,
uscito poco prima dell’estate per annunciare il ritorno dei The Joy Formidable con il nuovo album ‘AARTH’.
