I Big Red Machine, ovvero Aaron Dessner dei The National e Justin ‘Bon Iver’ Vernon, pubblicheranno il nuovo album ‘How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last?’ il 27 agosto per Jagjaguwar e 37d03d Records (si legge People Records).
Il nuovo album del duo delle meraviglie della scena indipendente americana è un gioiello postmoderno di arrangiamenti, produzione e intuizioni folk e pop sintetiche, a cui hanno partecipato artisti del calibro di Taylor Swift, Sharon Van Etten, Anais Mitchell dei Bonny Light Horseman, Fleet Foxes e molti altri.
L’uscita dell’album è stata anticipata dai singoli ‘Renegade’ in collaborazione con Taylor Swift, ‘Phoenix’ con i Fleet Foxes, ‘Mimi’ con Ilsey, ‘Latter Days’ con Anais Mitchell dei Bonny Light Horseman e la ballata folk ‘The Ghost of Cincinnati’.
‘Renegade’ è stata registrata a Los Angeles nella stessa settimana in cui Taylor Swift e Aaron Dessner vincevano il Grammy per il migliore album del 2020. Hanno preso parte alle registrazioni del brano anche Bryce Dessner e Jason Treuting, mentre il video è stato diretto da Michael Brown.
All’appello dei guest presenti sull’ambum vanno aggiunti anche Naeem, Ilsey, Ben Howard, This Is The Kit, La Force e Lisa Hannigan dei My Brightest Diamond.
