Un’edizione speciale con materiale audio e video per festeggiare i 40 anni del primo disco dei Ramones

Il primo album dei Ramones festeggia il suo 40esimo compleanno e lo fa con un’edizione speciale di quello che il Rolling Stone ha definito il più grande album punk di tutti i tempi e che, pur senza arrivare a tanto, è senza dubbio uno dei più importanti e influenti della storia del rock, che porta lo stesso nome della band.

Per celebrare questo importante anniversario, la casa discografica Rhino ha preparato un’edizione veramente speciale: si tratta di un cofanetto con 3 cd e un vinile, che sono stati racchiusi in un box a forma di libro rilegato, della grandezza di un 33 giri, prodotta in edizione limitata e numerata.

Questa pubblicazione include anche una nuova versione stereo, rimasterizzata e resa migliore nel suono, nonché un mix mono dell’album originale. Vi sono poi alcune rarità, dei demo e un concerto inedito. Tutto questo materiale porta la firma della produzione (ma anche del mixaggio e della rimasterizzazione) di Craig Leon, il produttore e responsabile del mixaggio dell’album festeggiato.

Ed è proprio a Craig Leon che dobbiamo le note di produzione dettagliate sulla registrazione di ‘Ramones’. Oltre a queste note, il cofanetto contiene anche un intervento del giornalista rock Mitchell Cohen che racconta il debutto della band e alcune foto di Roberta Bayley, autrice della famosa copertina dell’album.

Una pubblicazione decisamente interessante per chi è appassionato della musica dei Ramones o per chi vuole avvicinarsi a questi suoni di molto tempo fa ma che riescono ancora oggi a parlare al cuore di tanti.
