‘Humanz’ è il nuovo lavoro dei Gorillaz, la band virtuale creata da Damon Albarn e da Jamie Hewlett e che rompe un silenzio durato sette anni.
Il loro ultimo lavoro, infatti, risaliva al 2010 ed era il celebrato ‘Plastic Beach’. Adesso arriva, invece, ‘Humanz’, composto da 20 brani – che divengono 26 nella versione deluxe – e che vede la partecipazione di ospiti di grande risonanza: da Grace Jones, a Carly Simon; dai (sempre presenti) De La Soul a Noel Gallagher; da Mavis Staples a Kali Uchis a Pusha T. E ancora, Vince Staples, Popcaan, Jehnny Beth from Savages,Anthony Hamilton, Kelela, Kilo Kish e molti altri.
Il disco è stato per lo più composto su iPad, come ha dichiarato Damon Albarn, durante viaggi e spostamenti vari: dalla metropolitana agli aerei, o in albergo.
Intanto, in pochi ore, ‘Humanz’ è divenuto l’album più venduto al mondo, raggiungendo il primo posto in molte delle classifiche di vendita in tutto il globo.
