‘Bless This Acid House’ è il nuovo video dei Kasabian tratto dall’album ‘For Crying Out Loud’, che vede la band di Serge Pizzorno vestita come carcerati, dopo aver indossato i panni dei pazzi in manicomio con il precedente video ‘You’re In Love With a Psycho’.
Parlando della canzone, il chitarrista e leader del gruppo Serge Pizzorno ha affermato che la canzone è una sorta di omaggio agli Anni Novanta. Ha detto che a casa di Mike Pickering c’era un poster che diceva, appunto, ‘Bless This Acid House’ e Pizzorno si è segnato la frase sul cellulare.
«Negli Anni Settanta sentivi moltissime canzoni che si riferivano al rock’n’roll degli Anni Cinquanta, così ho pensato che fosse interessante per noi fare riferimento a qualcosa che ha fatto parte dei nostri vent’anni e cioè l’acid house. Ma piuttosto che fare una traccia di sintetizzatore, ho pensato di fare riferimento a una canzone che nascesse nell’acid house e facesse riferimento al punk e, secondo me, poteva essere decisamente interessante. E nei live è veramente potente».
Nel recente concerto di Lucca la canzone era ovviamente in scaletta e, effettivamente, questa valutazione fatta a monte da Pizzorno trova perfettamente riscontro nella versione live che hanno proposto.
Il video – girato in bianco e nero – è decisamente divertente anche se non racconta niente di nuovo. E’ una sorta di live in un ambiente retrò e i protagonisti sono loro, i Kasabian. Niente di straordinario, ma sicuramente carino da vedere.
