Esoteric Recordings America ha annunciato l’uscita di una nuova edizione remastered in box 4 cd del classico “Turn of the Cards” dei Renaissance.
Pubblicato nel 1974, l’album è stato un trionfo artistico e commerciale senza precedenti per la band, negli Stati Uniti e non solo. “Turn of the Cards” è stato registrato nel marzo 1974 al De Lane Lea studio di Wembley (North London), dalla line-up formata dalla talentuosa cantante Annie Haslam, Michael Dunford alla chitarra acustica, John Tout (tastiere), Jon Camp (basso) e Terry Sullivan alle percussioni e batteria.
L’album vede anche il coinvolgimento di arrangiamenti sinfonici orchestrali in brani come ‘Running Hard’, ‘Things I Don’t Understand’ e ‘Mother Russia’, e inni come ‘Cold Is Being’ e ‘Black Flame’ che hanno reso immortale questo disco per i fan dei Renaissance e non solo.
Questa edizione expanded rimasterizzata dai master originali comprende un intero concerto tenuto al The Academy of Music di New York il 17 maggio 1974 (con un’orchestra di 24 elementi) e 2 bonus cd con nuovi mix dall’originale master a 16 tracce, con incluse versioni live e una versione di 15’ di ‘Ashes Are Burning”, con la partecipazione di Andy Powell (WISHBONE ASH) alla chitarra solista. Il 4° disco è un dvd con lo stereo mix in alta risoluzione 5.1 surround sound di “Turn of the Cards”.
